A right reekin' room

We're not sleeping terribly well in our new room, partly because of an unpleasant pervasive odour!  It smells extremely damp so after a particularly bad night we are determined to locate the source of the problem.

After much sniffing and routing around on hands and knees it turns out the carpet is to blame, so we've removed as much of it, and the underlay, as we can (the wardrobes are too heavy to move), revealing a solid, dry concrete floor that we'll have to live with for a while as we'll be recarpeting throughout in due course.  A couple of rugs lessen the impact!
