Christmas is coming!

As we're now into December I feel comfortable beginning preparations for Christmas (I can't be doing with thinking about the festivities as soon as the summer holidays are over!)  We've started planning for the influx of family and friends who are visiting us, and I've started writing my Christmas cards.  Usually I buy a wreath for the front door but this year, on seeing that a florist local to Mum was running workshops, I cajoled her into signing up with me.

We went along this evening not quite sure what to expect, apart from the cold - we'd been told to wrap up. There were 8 of us altogether, plus 4 'experts' on hand to guide us, and none of us had any prior experience although judging by the results some had more artistic flair than others!  I went at the task a bit gung-ho and didn't really think about the look I was trying to create before I started.  My wreath therefore looked a little bit like it had been 'dragged through a hedge backwards' as I tried to incorporate a little bit of everything. Sometimes less is more........

But it was a jolly evening and my wreath, in the cold light of day, isn't actually that bad.  Judge for yourself!
