Mallyan Spout

Today is our 14th wedding anniversary so we had decided that, weather permitting, we'd spend the day out together.  We woke to a frosty landscape but the sky was blue and the sun was shining so, after a leisurely breakfast, we wrapped up and ventured out.

Our destination was Goathland, the setting for Heartbeat's Aidensfield,

and a circular walk to Mallyan Spout, the tallest waterfall in the North York Moors. The lovely thing about visiting such locations out of season is that there are very few people about.  There were some locals out in the village but on the walk itself we met just one other couple; it was so peaceful.   

 

 

We finished our outing with lunch at The Mallyan Spout Hotel,  a lovely celebration of 14 wonderful years together!
